Camera angles First some basics. The following two handouts provide a great visual orientation to the world of camera angles: Wally Wood's 22 Panels That Always Work. This provides an orientation to camera angles in comic book genre. It appears here with Joel Johnson's permission. Camera shots, angles and Movement. This handout shoots the same doll from all the major camera angles. I don't know the origin of this one. Let me know if you do. The next section explains how the angles in these handouts can be used to persuade and convey meaning.

Old Things in Old Ways When a new technology appears, our first instinct is always to continue doing things within the technology the way we've always done it. People still illuminated the first printed Gutenberg Bibles by hand. Television pioneers set up single cameras in "great" theater seats. The result was pretty much like what came before; some elements may have been lost, but the results were certainly cheaper, and far more efficient.

We chose to use measurement for our numeracy video. We felt that measurement is an important numeracy skill used in everyday life. We believe we did this well. We met all criteria. For the first time we used the flip cameras, movie-maker and youtube to: create, edit and upload our video. We thoroughly enjoyed this process and felt it was an interesting assignment. :)
