In this site you can access model curriculum supporting the state standards. You can select quarterly units or individual topics. These models provide sample that offer description, time frame, sample ideas, sample questions, vocabulary, resources. Individual models show the standards that will be mastered, gives instructional strategies, samples of instructional resources/materials that can be used, and even lists some common misconceptions related to the lesson. Unfortunately, it only provides for Language Arts and Mathematics but it could be a great base for creating your own plans in other subjects.

I absoluetly love this website. You have to visit it if you have young children or neices and nephews. Looking for a game to match your school's curriculum? Use our Curriculum Guide to find the right game or activity to meet your classroom or child's needs. The guide is broken up into four areas: Math, Language Arts, Science and Social Studies. I actually did this with my 7 year old grandson. We did the detective search to see how "Cole" was eating and helped him pick out nutricious food in the lunch line at school. We were also able to print out a worksheet that shows how many teaspoons of sugar are in your soda drink. We will be doing the test this week. Children will have fun doing the investigation while learning about science adnd healthy snacks.

This article has several ideas for small group activities that build skills and promote teamwork. It focuses on building learning strategies with diverse learners. I really like this website and will be using it it the future for teaching Reading and helping those that are struggling with this subject. ABCs of Teaching Reading classroom strategies helping struggling readers, reading topics from a-z Cooperative Learning has been proven to be effective for all types of students, including academically gifted, mainstream students and English language learners (ELLs) because it promotes learning and fosters respect and friendships among diverse groups of students. In fact, the more diversity in a team, the higher the benefits for each student. Peers learn to depend on each other in a positive way for a variety of learning tasks. Students typically work in teams of four. This way, they can break into pairs for some activities, and then get back together in teams very quickly for others. It is important, however, to establish classroom norms and protocols that guide students to: Contribute Stay on task Help each other Encourage each other Share Solve problems Give and accept feedback from peers
