This discusses the three primary tasks involved in developing a successful personal learning network. It is not a "how-to" for developing a personal learning network, but rather investigates the key elements that must be in place.

This is one of the resources listed in the video I posted earlier. It is an introduction to the Connectivism and Connective Knowledge course. It explains how the core aspects of connectivism are built into the course and gives a description of each aspect.

This is a good basic video that covers connectivism. It discusses the theory as well as the necessary elements.

This is quite old, however, as I read through the document I felt that the information was still relevant. You may read through it to see if you agree. While the tools and access have become much more advanced since 1998, the needs of participants in an asynchronous network have not changed. Let me know if you agree. There is a great deal of useful information throughout the wenger-treyner.com site. I selected this section, because it brought up a question that I had not considered. This discusses the difference between a community and a network and whether you can have both in one.

This is an article by Stephen Downes, discussing the course Connectivism and Connective Knowledge. I was interested to see how many elements of connectivism were built into the course structure. I also liked the visual map at the beginning of the article. All sources for the article were 2008 or prior, which made me wonder how much has changed and if the article is still valid. It prompted me to dig further.

This is not a published article, but rather an example of an active Community of Practice. I like visuals, so this was helpful to see an operational COP and explore the different aspects available to its members.

I came across the acronym MOOC in the resources and the meaning did not immediately jump out to me. This article discusses the quick rise and perceived fall of MOOC's from 2012 to present. It also discusses their continued importance and changes that may occur.

Screencast-O-Matic is my favorite online screen casting tool. It is easy to use and allows for longer recordings. It is great for demonstrations or to answer math questions that are difficult to type out in an email.
