I like this article because of the 12 ideas on how to integrate social media into the classroom. And, I like the website because it has authors that work in education,
The textbook company, Glencoe, did a great resource page that has several academic sites on using the internet into your classroom. They give examples and instructions for educators.
I like this website because it is designed for teachers. It gives general ideas on how to incorporate the internet into the classroom but then goes into detail about how to use the internet properly. It teaches the teacher how to use the internet.
Great video that gives good explanation about how most videos were made and for whom, but more importantly they give good tips and recommendations on how to use videos as an additional tool.
This article breaks down the different parts a spreadsheet can do and their benefits into easy categories to remember. It gives explanations of each component however, I would have like a bit more description on charts/graphs. I thought the author left too much unsaid about such a powerful tool.
I like this article the most because it has nice bullet points and gets to the point quickly and is easy to use. I also like that it is from Standford. It is lacking a bit -- no intro or conclusion-- but I found the bullet points to be dead on.
I like this article because it lists both pros and cons to using .PPT. I also like that it clearly states not to use too many slides and that it is meant to help add to the presentation, not deliver it or make it more interesting.
The author clearly breaks down the benefits of educational software by different age groups beginning at birth through high school. He even gives negative information about using software too early, or using wrong content software for the age.
This article is the best description I have seen on designing a way to evaluate instructional software. It breaks it down clearly and gives several resources to help guide you on your way to making a decision.
I did not know that the government required schools to filter information if taking part on an E-rate discount. A simple article but has a lot of important content.
Some of this article seemed a bit outdated for me. I realize that it was written in 2002 but it dated itself in the writing. What I did like was how they acknowledge that Instructional and Educational technology are slightly different. I did not know the difference until 541.
I think what John Dewey said over 100 years ago about the role of a teacher and society still affect us today. Especially if you consider a teacher as part of society that teaches job ready skills.
