    This is a really great technology integration matrix with videos and ideas.

    The Technology Integration Matrix (TIM) illustrates how teachers can use technology to enhance learning for K-12 students. The TIM incorporates five interdependent characteristics of meaningful learning environments: active, constructive, goal directed (i.e., reflective), authentic, and collaborative (Jonassen, Howland, Moore, & Marra, 2003).

    Thank you for this resource! When deciding to use technology, I struggle with efficiency vs effectiveness. Bu using the matrix, I can now frame my analyses in terms of "to what extent" does the tool meet student needs.

This tool was designed to help principals and teachers evaluate the levels of technology integration into the classroom.

    This website is a problem solving software example for math. This matrix logic puzzle website is a great way to get students to solve word problems with math. Each word problem is a different situation and the website gives the students a matrix to use to solve each logic puzzle. It gives the students clues and they can check their answers as they go along to see how they are doing.

    This article discusses how LMSs have become the norm for higher education, but identified limitations of the LMS and how learners are demanding a modification that gives students more control and interaction using web tools such as social networking sites to create PLNs to support their learning. Students want to create their own PLNs to manage information, create content, and connect with others. These approaches "represent a shift away from the model in which students consume information through independent channels such as the library, a textbook, or an LMS, moving instead to a model where students draw connections from a growing matrix of resources that they select and organize", emphasizing the personal aspect of PLNs.

This publication dealt with social learning in the virtual world Second Life but can be applied on other online learning communities. What is especially useful is the social network knowledge construction matrix that cover five degrees of involvement in the learning community. These levels are identifying the network, lurking, contributing, creating and leading.
