Compfight is an image search engine tailored to efficiently locate images for blogs, comps, inspiration, and research. We make good use of the flickr™ API, but aren't affiliated with flickr.

This started as a project among edubloggers and has now expanded beyond the original 50 who started it. It is an excellent example of what could be done as a classroom assignment- having students photograph something relevant to your content matter and upload it to a Flickr site. Being a Flckr site, discussion is available.

Flickr is almost certainly the best online photo management and sharing application in the world. Show off your favorite photos and videos to the world, securely and privately show content to your friends and family, or blog the photos and videos you take with a cameraphone.

Not specific to educational technology, but a digital resource that educators may find quite valuable.

Bookr is a tool to create illustrated books from Flickr photos.
