    I also liked the style, you could scroll down the page reading the relevant questions and answers without having to wade through the info you weren't looking for at this time. It allowed for a more connectivistic (if that's a thing) learning approach.

    Thanks for sharing this. It really connected with me especially when it used a map to describe a PLN. It makes complete since to look at it that way. I also liked the way it emphasized creating a PLN online and described ways to create one.

    Dr. Sherri E. Ritter's blog post discusses the main ideas behind several learning theories. She also provides background information, a definition, and examples of connectivism. I like how Ritter suggests different apps at the bottom of the post to support connectivism in the classroom. I have used Remind101 before to safely and securely communicate with parents.

    I liked the format of this post as well. It also opened my eyes to how much we can be restricting our students from this type of learning if we are keeping their personal technology out of the classroom. The struggle is finding a happy medium, at least thats the struggle at my current school.

    The part of the article that I enjoyed the most was when it had a list of apps at the bottom. It connected the theory of connectivism with a list of apps that potentially could be used in a learning environment. Since this is a 2014 article, I would assume that there are many more that should be included now. Thanks for sharing.

    What I find most interesting about this is that there are examples of how apps are used in the day to day operation of businesses and educations and yet in most classrooms I've been in the first thing we're told is to turn off our electronic devices. In fact, in the school where I work, we just reconfigured a classroom because it was too hard to tell if students were surfing the web instead of paying attention. Did I mention that I teach adults?

    Technology is changing the way people can learn. With constant access to the internet, learning can take place all the time and everywhere. This is especially true with online learning. Connectivism is the theory that claims knowledge exists in the world, not in just an individual. This theory is what drives good online learning practices. The four major concepts that describe effective online teaching using connectivism are establish the feeling of the online classroom, create a social presence within the class, use activities and technology to make meaningful learning experiences and also to teach and guide your students through the learning process. These four concepts are best used within a social and learning community like Facebook or Blackboard that helps to connect the learners and the teacher.

    I thought this was an interesting because the way the classroom is constantly changing there is the opportunity to learn anywhere. A perfect example is this course! I have taken classes with people from all over the world through BSU due to the advancements in technology. The fact that the connectivism theory embraces the knowledge of the world, goes hand in hand with the effectiveness of online education. Social networking is another way that those connections can be made.

The communities of practice were used to increase capacity, engagement, and collaboration amongst the members. Communities of practice can be differentiated depending on the needs to the members participating in the learning community. A vital part in communities of practice is that it's members need to share a common goal or vision and work collaboratively to contribute to the learning community.
