In this study, a significant majority of students had high expectations for the use of Facebook in their coursework prior to the class. However, after the course only a slightly more than half found the use of Facebook effective. Nonetheless, a large majority of students recommended using Facebook in future courses. Students stated that Facebook enhanced communication, but it was also an additional communication channel that the students needed to keep up with.
