The authors explore the motivation of professional learners to use their personal learning network (PLN). The authors posit that a common interest with other members in the learners' network may serve as a reason why learners engage in their PLN for a given purpose. The authors analyze a Tweetstorm, an online brainstorming session through Twitter, to explore motivation for using PLNs. Interestingly, the subject of the study is also the method of gathering data.
