Totoronomori is a Japanese garden filled with beautiful landscapes. It can be used as part of a cultural study; all the gardens are traditional Japanese gardens with beautiful building placed strategically throughout the island. The gardens also display all four seasons, so it could tie in nicely to a weather study too! It is also a nice place to go and visit, it is beautiful and serene.

Svarga is a complete ecosystem created in Second Life. Upon your arrival you can get a tour of the island from a giant bee-who will fly you to various spots and whispers the island secrets to you. Plants actually grow and reproduce! Roaming around the island you can see bees pollenating flowers, and birds will pester you for food (if you buy seeds). Particular flowers grow in specific spots, for example one type of flower will only grow under the shade of a tree. When visiting at night you can see fireflies buzzing around.

This is a great place to discuss ecosystems with students-students can see how animals, insects and plants interact with one another to create a healthy ecosystem. I am is also in awe of Svarga from a design standpoint, the amount of work it took its creator to make-not to mention the amount of thought and planning it took to create a functioning ecosystem. This is a site that is continually evolving and changing. You'll never see it the same twice.
