This is an interesting site in which students create virtual boxes with images, text, videos, sound clips, etc. to create an argument or tell about something. There is a cost associated, but there are boxes that have been created and are available to view. These boxes could still be used as a resource.
ScootPad has activities for students in math, reading, spelling, and writing. It allows teachers to make assignments and track student progress. There is a class wall feature that allows students and teachers to collaborate safely. Activities are individualized and there are plenty of incentives. There is some cost to get the full package, but schools may find it worthwhile.
Students are given a beginning to a story. Then they write the next chapter. Once chapters are submitted, students vote on which one should be included in a book that actually gets published.
