Grades 3-12 A great resource or tool to learn how to create screencasts. This site can be used by teachers and students as a tutorial of how to create scrrencasts for specific projects.

Purpose of the Website: Screencastle is an easy tool to create screencasts using the Internet. The user can record animation on their computer and view it back in a video format. All you have to do is select the area of your computer screen that you would like to record and decide if you would like to record from a microphone as well. Grade Level: 7-12 Classroom Connection: Some way that this tool can be used include: - Offering an orientation to a new class - Presenting lessons to the class - Provide feedback for student work - Allow students to share work Negatives of this Website: Java is not working properly on all classroom computers in the district so there is some difficulty with this website since it is Java based.

I downloaded Jing and used this screencast to help me learn how to use Jing and create a screencast.

Jing is a great Screencast resource. There is a free version and a pay version. Jing is easy to use and understand as well as easy to share once you are done with the creation.

9-12 This tool can be used by teachers to guide students through computer programs-among its many other capabilities. I have recently used this to demonstrate for my colleagues a "how to" for setting up their grade books using engrade. One downside to this -for me- was that it took me a lot of trial and error before I realized how to properly use the software. Check out the video for how to use Screencast on the home page.

Interactive whiteboard - IWB's can help when performing a screencast. I found this one to be easy and simple to figure out.
