Kids Connect is a program that connects young people in different countries via media art, performance, and creative collaboration within virtual worlds such as Second Life. We introduce students to theatrical and digital methods, building a solid foundation of audio, visual and programming knowledge through which they can tell stories about their lives. Participants connect and create with other students via audio/visual and streaming Internet technologies within the online virtual world of Second Life.

Hi Vikki, The information you have shared will be very helpful for developing teacher knowledge and understanding of ICT incorporations! Thank you, I'll keep it in the back of my mind. I have experienced some wonderful ICT incorporations during my professional experience, however I'm sad to report the interactive whiteboard isn't functioning in my classroom. I was really looking forward to engaging with it. Have you had any success with it? I have found that the students engage really well with IXL on their iPads, have you come across this resource yet? I feel it would be along the same lines as an interactive whiteboard, and it's evident that the student love their hands on learning. IXL, what a fantastic resource! I was first exposed to this last week during my professional experience and it's great! It caters for a diverse range of students and they are all so excited to engage with it! I had a quick go myself, and it's very enjoyable! Nice clear pictures and writing and quick answers go a long way to increasing interest. I was so surprised that the low level learners who aren't all that keen to engage with any learning were more than happy to have a go on the IPads for this activity. No words! I feel we must embrace ICT's and allow every student to use assistive technologies that will individually benefit them. Fair does not necessarily mean every student gets the same. It means every student gets what they NEED. While every student's tool belt will vary (because of different needs and characteristics), it is up to the school and teacher to cooperatively ensure that many tools of communication and a variety of learning paths are prevalent.
