Create list of ideas to use Edmodo in the classroom. I will be using this article and cite with my inservice project on Edmodo. The website focuses on both behavioral and cognitive activities that can be used.

This site at Boise State University describes pre-training and introduces the elements for multimedia, Mayer's principles, it gives definitions for several elements including contiguity, modality, redundancy, segmentation and pre-training.

This site is an informational site at Washington University that gives information on producing video products. The site covers a tutorial, pre-production, production post-production and marketing, and a section on best practices, there you will find a list of Mayer's principles including the pre-training principle. The site did not have very much information on pre-training, but it is a useful site for questions on video production

SlideSnack gives users the ability to upload and shre their presentations online as well as creating them on the site. Presentation made in software like PowerPoint can be uploaded into the system. They allow for adding voice to the presentation to make in their terms a "slidecast". The slideshows can also be exported into a video.

Zoho has the ability to keep share online documents using their software. The presentation software has an easy to use interface that allow for construction of presentations with graphics and animations. The shared files can be shared and exported into different document types, or zipped for use in other programs.

Site explains what authentic assessment is, why to do it and how to do it. It lists several examples including standards, tasks, rubrics, and portfolios. It examines the characteristics of authentic tasks, and types of authentic tasks to use instead of selected response type assessment.

Funderstanding give a definition of authentic assessment and provides a list of what should be the goals of authentic assessment activities, including, "requiring students to develop responses rather than select from predetermined options and teaches students to evaluate their own work".

This site provides a collection of graphic organizers available in a variety of media formats including Word, HTML, and PDF. The graphic organizers provided on the site allow the presenter to organize workshop material and provide participants with a guide and note-taking handout. The process of using a graphic organizer during instruction ensures essential cognitive processing of select material and promotes generative processing with an engaging environment. The significance of this site involves the ability to manipulate the graphic organizers to tailor the layout to specific instruction.

A collection of graphic organizers available in a variety of media formats. The development of computer simulations and games are a great addition. The ability to modify the graphic organizer to match the content.

Thinkport Graphic organizer page has examples for several different graphic organizers such as character maps, concept map, cornel notes, compare/contrast, Venn diagrams, and many more. The most interesting thing about graphic organizer section is that it allow you to open each of the graphic organizers in three different formats…HTML, PDF, and Word.

The Inspiration site's graphic organizers pages not only have several different types of graphic organizers available they also define what graphic organizers are and explains possible uses of the different graphic organizers. Although they are trying to sell software to produce some of these it is still a great resource.

A tool for creating videos ~ collaboratively online. This is a very simple and easy to use online platform for video production. It integrates with other Google Apps for Education offerings. Easy to share and build together. It has a full feature video editor, music, and effects. Everything is stored online and all file formats are supported with instant posting and mobile accessibility. A great synchronous and asynchronous tool for multi-media learning. The active engagement required focuses on a cognitive activity. WeVideo is a video-editing program that allows users to edit based on their experience level. This site was chosen to meet the needs of participants of all expertise. Novices can simply arrange their videos and export, while advanced users can create transitions, composites, titles, and more.

Magisto takes videos shot by participants and edits and analyzes them, then makes them beautiful in just a few clicks. This site was chosen because it is the easiest to use and allows participants to focus on content, not technical skill.

Mixmoov is basic yet powerful editing software that can be used to create video-based multimedia presentations. I chose Mixmoov based on the ability to import all types of media and create on-screen text references for participants.

VideoToolbox is a site that allows users to upload source videos to analyze, edit, convert, and post finished videos. This site was chosen based on the ability to do all these tasks, unlike any other online software.

This is a limited free site, but to upgrade is fairly inexpensive. This graphic organizer allows the use to embed text, files, photos, calendars, and locations. Additionally, this site allows the user to share and collaborate with others in real time or asynchronously.

SpiderScribe can be used as a graphic organizer to link together video production steps and concepts with pictures and links through mind mapping. This software is most effective linking together notes and files all in one mind map.

Assignment#3: Sliderocket has a free "light" option and a paying option to create and post presentations which can incorporate animation and video. The presentation can be posted and accessed online. The option also offers a collaboration and interaction option.

Slide Rocket allows the user to create new PowerPoint style presentation or to import presentations from PowerPoint. These presentations can be shared and the site keeps track of how many users are viewing the presentation and how it is being shared. Because it allows the user to use existing presentations, it also eliminates the need for a single computer to be able to edit the presentation.

Using SlideRocket gives users the advantage of importing simple presentations and creating animated slideshows. SlideRocket offers professional level tools unavailable thorough other presentation websites. By starting with simple concepts and linking them together between slides, workshop participants get a clear pre-training introduction to difficult production content.
