Waypoint is an observation evaluation application that allows instructors to manage information and data on individual students in a more mobile, flexible manner. Users can keep track of observations, one or multiple, across a classroom in either a synchronous or asynchronous manner. Most assessment tools are not designed to be mobile, nor are they compatible with the iPad. Waypoint's commitment to this modality, along with its effective system makes it a valuable tool for instructors seeking to assess students in an authentic manner.

This inforgraphic provides data to the reader in an engaging, well-organized manner. It introduces a number of terms that can be built upon later in trainings, and it does so in an easily accessible, yet engaging manner. It allows one, later, to reference the specific information during discussions or other activities. This format is more desirable and potentially effective than other mediums because it is concise and easily manageable. It doesn't require a great deal of reading to understand, which is important in pre-training.

Quizlet is a site that allows learners to create online flashcards. Teachers can create sets to share with their learners, or learners can create their own. Some of the best features of Quizlet are the cost (free), capability of adding images to flashcards, and the fun factor. Quizlet creates games using the flashcards creating by the user, allowing learners study vocabulary in a more engaging manner. It can be used for essential learning by providing learners with key terms prior to the lesson. This knowledge will allow learners to focus their attention and working memory on the content, rather than the new terms. This site is better than other similar sites I have found and used because it is easy to use and provides options that other sites do not have, like uploading images.

* I found Tagxedo to be better than other "word cloud" websites because it is effective at using paragraphs of text to highlight key vocabulary and has many options to create a better-finished product that can be transferred to other mediums.
