TagCrowd (http://tagcrowd.com/) takes the presentation that one is going to do in class and creates a word cloud of the words that are most important to the training topic. Students can see which words will be most relevant to what they are learning by the size of the words in the word cloud. TagCrowd allows its users the option to download the word cloud to a pdf file or it gives it the code to embed into a website of blog. TagCrowd does allow the user to change the fonts, style, color scheme but for a small onetime fee of $19. The ability to omit words, determine the number of vocabulary words that you want your word cloud to have and the embed codes given to you make it surpass some of their free counterparts like Wordle because what you can do with the word cloud once it is completed is limited.

Biome Webquest - 1 views

In the Biology classes that I teach, I usually do a biome project with the students (http://biologycorner.com/quests/biome.html) this Biome Web Quest allows students to refine their research skills and gives them a chance to be creative at the same time as the create their flyers about their biomes. The students have all of the information they need at their fingertips so that they can work from home or in class without any problems.

DOLORES GENDE: PhysicsQuest: BRIDGES - 0 views

Bridge Building (http://physicsquest.homestead.com/bridge.html ) this allows my physics classes to see practical applications to forces as we learn about them in class. In addition to this Web Quest I challenge my students to go to West Point Bridge Building Design Challenge (http://bridgecontest.usma.edu/) and create their own bridges based on what they have learned. If a bridge is exceptional I encourage them to enter it in the contest.

Empressr (http://www.empressr.com) is similar to Prezi in that it allows its users to create interactive presentations. Empressr goes further and not only allows for its users to upload pictures and text to their presentation they can also add video. The presentation storage and creation is free. The user can determine if the presentation will be made available to the public or they will keep it for their use only. The software offers any number of transitions to make for a more engaging presentation. The user can change the font's size and style. It is created online so the only thing the user needs is internet access.

Prezi (http://prezi.com/) allows the user to create a dynamic presentation using words, pictures, special relationships and movement to create an interactive presentation. Prezi's can be downloaded or saved on in the users account until the presentation. The user can also allow others to view their presentation or keep them private. Prezi is a free site in which interactive presentations are made possible. Prezi is much more dynamic than a PowerPoint presentation and as long as you have internet access you do not have to worry about the computer you are using having the same version of PowerPoint.

Brainstorming and Mind Mapping Software. Make a Mind Map Online! - Mindomo - 0 views

Mindomo (http://www.mindomo.com) is an incredible graphic organization site. This site allows the user to create interactive graphic organizers. They can choose the layout they want, import pictures, and add video or audio clips, hyperlinks and much more to the graphic organizer. This allows the user to create dynamic interactive graphic organizers that demonstrate whatever they are trying to get the learner to learn. The graphic organizers can be saved and shared within the site or embedded into a website for others to view. This site has two levels of service the free component does not allow the user the same privileges as the paid customer such as uploading pictures but with the free component the user is able to still make a interactive dynamic presentation. This site is better than some of its counterparts like Inspiration and even Bubbl.us because it allows the user to embed the graphic organizer into a website or create a slide show presentation of what they are trying to do.

Bubbl.us - 2 views

Bubble.us (https://bubbl.us/) is a great site to build graphic organizers in. The site allows the user to download, print, save and share them online with others. The site is easy to use and navigate which means that the user can be creating dynamic graphic organizers in little time. The site is free but does all for upgrades which allow the user more customization options. This site is better than Inspiration because it allows for the online component the user can share the graphic organizer with others and allow them the ability to manipulate or change the organizer or just view depending on the needs of the user.

Tagul - Gorgeous tag clouds - 0 views

Tagul (http://tagul.com/) is a free word cloud generator. This generator is better than Wordle and many of its counterparts because even on the free version you have so many stylistic controls. The creator can input the text; determine the color scheme, the shape or the word cloud, axis rotation, and number of words to be displayed. It even has a rollover option for the word that is used infrequently that may be hard to read. The software allows for multiple saving options and even offers embedding code so that the word cloud can be put directly into a website.

PhET: Free online physics, chemistry, biology, earth science and math simulations - 0 views

  •
PhET Interactive Simulations (http://phet.colorado.edu/) allow students to see and practice complex science concepts that they are working on in class and see them actually performed. These simulations offer students the opportunity to try things out in a simulation before constructing their own machines. It allows teachers to show students advanced concepts and principles that they may not have the lab equipment to do in class. Students are able to manipulate the variables to see what happens so that physics is more than a series of equations. Mayer (2009) would see this as a knowledge construction becuase students are able to go in and manipulate the variables in their own way so that they given any circumstances they can see what happens. They are able to construct their own knowledge based on the parameters they put into the simulations so they can see what would happen when they apply more force or increase the mass of an object, they can then use that information to help them determine if their calculations make sense.

Glogster: make a poster online. It's free! - 7 views

  •
Glogster (www.glogster.com) allows teachers and students to create interactive projects. Teachers can design interactive glogs for their students to complete or assign the students to create their own glog for a class project. Either way this allows for the teacher to really control the learning. Mayer (2009) would consider Glogster knowledge construction because students will have to view the videos, read the articles, and examine the pictures that the teacher embeds in their glog to form an opinion or to create their own glog. When a student creates their own glog no two will be exactly the same.

USATestprep, Inc. - Online State-Specific Review and Benchmark Testing - 0 views

  •
USA Test Prep (www.usatestprep.com) is a site that our school pays to use that is extremely beneficial to students and teachers. The site itself allows students to practice on the state standards that we are learning in class in a variety of ways. They can play games, watch videos, and take practice test, review vocabulary and even complete teacher generated assignments. Mayer (2009) would consider this site as information acquisition because all learners will come away with the same knowledge. How they attain that knowledge will differ on the learner, if they are more of an auditory visual learner they will watch the videos on the content. If they are more of a hands on learner than they will most likely play the games so they can be involved in the learning. If they want to see what they already know they may take a practice test first to see where they should spend their time. Mayer (2009) would not consider this to be using technology for the technologies sake because authentic learning is taking place and students are able to drive how and what they learn.
