I have chosen the topic "SmartBoards in Elementary Schools". At my school every teacher has a SmartBoard and projector in their class. Unfortunately the lack of experience and knowledge to operate the SmartBoards has regressed their ability to effectively use the technology as a learning tool.
Three Websites with Multimedia Artifacts http://youtu.be/dwla8E6jz4g This is a video tutorial from the YouTube website that shows the first steps of using the Smartboard. The video accomplishes the learner-centered approach. Learners can learn through the aid of technology which enhances the human's cognition. The learner also uses active learning by bringing material from the outside into the working-memory by activating prior knowledge to build connections (Mayer, 2009).

Educators can review the opinions of others and how the SmartBoard helps students stay focused and engaged. This website takes on the learner-centered approach which allows individuals to read and access prior knowledge of other educators. The learner uses active engagement through cognitive activities that bring in outside evidence of the effectiveness of SmartBoards in the classroom (Mayer, 2009).
