In the workshop, instruction though screen casting allows the participants to learn at a moderate pace from descriptive coaching. In addition to screen casting, web-based authoring of artifacts allows the participants to share their projects with others in the workshop.

In the workshop, participants will use pre-recorded screen cast, and they will develop a screen cast during their final assessment. Selection: Screenr is a java-based tool that operates on any platform. It is simple to use once the java application is loaded, and allows the user to adjust the size of the screen recorded for instruction. The recording is limited to five minutes. For instruction lasting more than five minutes, the video can be stitched together in a video application like iMovie. Other screen casting programs are difficult to use and cost money to purchase (SnagIt, Camtasia, Screenflow, etc.).
