  Voki is a web-based resource which allows the user to create an avatar personalized to meet his/her needs. Voki would allow participants to access pre-training material to ensure they are familiar with key terminology prior to beginning the workshop. Voki is a great tool for grabbing the audience's attention. It isn't every day that users see cartoon-like characters (avatars) that are familiar with the content/topics relevant to professional practices. Voki is a great resource; however, it is not available free of charge. Fees are explained on the website. Despite the costs incurred by subscribing to this resource, the learner has the opportunity to focus on essential learning as the teacher/facilitator determines the key concepts to include in the individual avatar presentations.
