The graphic organizers encourage the workshop attendees to organize their ideas around critical thinking, and collaboration. These tools provide opportunities for brain storming, and visualizing the relationships between higher order thinking, analyzing, evaluation, and collaboration.

    Mindjet http://www.mindjet.com
Mindjet is a graphic organizer used for brainstorming, and topic organization. The tool is cloud based, and allows users to collaborate in a distributed environment. As an application for education, the site encourages higher order thinking through the analysis of word relationships, and works as a collaborative tool for project teams.
Selection: Mindjet provides connectivity to many cloud based management tools (LinkedIn, Google, and Twitter), and allows the user to use information from these sites. The application is easy to use, and permits the student to import additional images.

    Mindmeister http://www.mindmeister.com
Mindmeister is another graphic organizer. A simple tool that is quick to learn. This is great resource for creating a mind map in a collaborative environment. Like Mindjet, the application encourages critical thinking, and learning as a team member as a participating learner.
Selection: I have used similar tools in the learning environment, and find them difficult to use or adapt to a topic. CMAPTools is a good organizer, but is restrictive in connection, and sharing information.
