Search engines like Google are essential tools for every Internet work. But are they the best place to search anything? A post that considers the statement "a manual selection of content is more useful in some situation"

BO.LT is a page-sharing platform that lets anyone instantly curate, promote, and share content by copying, editing, commenting on, endorsing, sharing, and socializing on webpages.

This tool could make sharing links with teachers or Twitter or sharing links with students more personalised and collaborative.

Mural.ly is a new tool (still in beta, launched last week) that is a cross between Prezi and mind maps. It's easy to use and share what you create (perfect for most students, teachers, and parents) but the real beauty of mural.ly is in its lack of structure.

"I confess!  I'm a Flipboard flip-a-holic. I wasn't always this way.  I originally hated Flipbaord and found the magazine style layout cluttered. Life has changed and Flipboard is now the most used app on my tablet. And since I wrote my post on Google Reader replacements, I've had a lot of people ask me what benefits I gain using Flipboard that they missed! So I've put together this information to help you get started using Flipboard or get more out of using Flipboard."

"Vidora's newly released iPad app actually uses Airplay intelligently, like a natural extension of its video discovery and curation service. Seriously, Vidora's Airplay integration is how I'd imagine Apple TV's UX if Apple wasn't scared of cannibalizing iTunes video sales and started sorting content based on making it easier for users to find things. (Sort of like what would happen in a bizarro world if Woz was calling all the shots at Apple.) Also, Vidora's Airplay integration means you don't have to use the Apple remote, since all navigation happens via your iPad." Pity it is only available in the US Store.
