Between my Twitter, online PLN (i.e., The Educator’s PLN) and GoogleReader, I could spend hours absorbed in reading the content on my computer. But in reality, where does reading get me if I don’t have time to reflect and apply, other than twisted in a mayhem of endless links, without any direct focus. Schedule time to read, but don’t feel like you have to read everything or follow every link. The last time I looked, I had 520 unread messages waiting in my GoogleReader. I have a timer by my computer. I set it for 25 minutes. When the timer goes off, I move on to something else. I need to allow time for my brain to absorb everything and reflect.
