In this writing, it talks about how Apple is in court with Samsung again because Samsung is stealing Apple's ideas and designs. This is the second time they have went to court and the first time, Apple won and revieved $1.05 billion toward damages. This is related because whatever happens between the two companies will affect the demand for each of the companies products and how prices will change.

This article has to do with the U.S. economy not having the same fate as some other countries according to recent data. Countries like Japan and others in Europe all have a struggling economy. The article is stating that part of the reason for U.S. companies not doing so well could be because of a slow global economy.

I chose this article because it is all about economics. It deals with taxes. It talks about how democrats want to raise taxes and republicans do not want to. Obama wants to raise taxes because he needs to earn one trillion dollars. Obama wants a proposal that is supposed to raise $523 billion dollars over the next ten years. The rest of the article deals with taxes and how Obama wants to raise them in order to cover the debt and earn more money.

Congress is encouraging making a $1 coin besides a bill because it is cheaper to manufacture and would last longer. For example, coins have to be replaced every 30 years, compared to dollars every 4-5 years. Not a lot of people will like to change, but it is just a matter of getting used to it.

This article is about how upper middle class families struggle to afford college for their kids. It relates to economics because these families move into more expensive areas to send their children to better schools to gain a better education but face the complications of losing jobs, living from pay check to pay check, sacrificing the small things such as eating out, etc. So it becomes an issue of is these families can actually afford school after the high school level.

the fiscal cliff is a series of tax increases and automatic spending cuts set to take place in 2013. This would lead to a fiscal contraction of $500 billion in 2013. This is already taking an impact on the economy. if we go over the cliff the economy could be worse then the great recession in 2007-2009. with this is projected unemployment and GDP rates: 2013: unemployment: 10.2% / GDP: .2% 2014: unemployment: 11.4% / GDP: 1%

The markets were down across the board friday. the biggest catalyst of the day came from the release of october jobs data. we added 171,000 non-farm jobs. but this may have caused the markets to flounder. this may help obamas efforts in beating romney.

Just because the unemployment rate rose only by 0.1 pct, doesn't mean that America lost jobs. Actually, since more people have started looking for jobs, there are more people unemployed because there are more people who are actually trying to get a job now.

This article relates to economics because, when these big companies go to court they are using up a lot of tax dollars that are payed by the citizens. The reason why that bothers people is because now these big companies want the court case to be shut off from the public, who are paying for these cases to even be in court.

This article talks about how hurricane sandy has cause a big effect on finding gas. A lot of gas stations aren't working because of the hurricane which caused hour long lines in order the fill up cars with gas.

The storm caused many gas stations, just like every other electrical usage, to lose power. Only 40% of about 3,000 stations in New Jersey are able to use power to pump gas, and in New York 30% of 1,000 are operational. Because of the shortage, there are very long lines of cars waiting at the running gas stations to pump their gas.

This will help the economy to grow and recover and once demand rises then companies will have to create more jobs, and the unemployment rate will rise if this happens.

With Christmas just around the corner people are stocking their shelves with new Christmas CDs.

With hurricane Sandy and all the storms New York has had to pay lots of money to help save the people, They can not be spending more money on a marathon when they are already raising money to help save victims of Sandy. They cannot afford more money for this marathon. Although the marathon does bring joy to the people and they could really use it, it will be hard to help fund it.

unemployment has a lot to do with the economy. Over the past few years unemployment has been at its highest.

Black Friday is a very important day for stores because it is the day some of them have the most sales. A lot of stores relay on black friday to help them with their sales for the year.
