The storm caused many gas stations, just like every other electrical usage, to lose power. Only 40% of about 3,000 stations in New Jersey are able to use power to pump gas, and in New York 30% of 1,000 are operational. Because of the shortage, there are very long lines of cars waiting at the running gas stations to pump their gas.

Candy corn and most candy in general is starting to cost 3% more this year, because of the rising price of corn oils and fructose corn syrup. These corn prices are causing not only candy, but other foods such as bacon and apples to rise in price too.
