I recently moved to Dublin in an effort to follow my dreams of finishing my studies up at Oxford University. It's been quite a ride, as I have been out of school for nearly 15 years. With respect to course materials, books are significantly more expensive than they were in 1986, and school feels like it has become a corporation that is trying to get as much as money out of me as possible. This is more so the case at Oxford, as many of the books used are high end and are generally 100 GBP and onwards. With that said, I don't have enough money to spend 600 GBP per term, nor do I have the capacity to carry around my textbooks wherever I go.

I spend most of my time in a state of mobilization, studying is done at the local coffee shop or the library. The other half of my time is spent carrying out research studies, which sends me going back and forth across town. This means carrying 7 or 8 textbooks and all my research materials is incredibly inconvenient. I decided I would look into getting a more comfortable book bag on the internet, but ended up noticing an ad for PHXAgenda. I am typically sceptical of any ad I see online, but this one caught my eye. I ended up browsing through and was on the fence with respect to signing up for the service. I was pretty much sold when I realized that I could get all my textbooks for free, and access them through my laptop. This would mean that I wouldn't need a new book bag, nor would I have to dish out 600 GBP for my texts.

It took me a few days to sleep on it and make up my mind. Like any internet based service or product, the purchase is always risky. However, I decided that the risk was worth taking, and ended up paying for a lifetime membership after doing research on the company and its business practices. I've been using it for accessing and reading all of my texts, and have found it incredibly useful. I am very satisfied, and would recommend this to anyone who prefers more affordable and portable materials. I am excited to see that there are a few million texts available, meaning that I'll probably be using this until I graduate! Thank you, College Textbooks: Why are they so expensive?!
