This is an exciting frontier. I have a feeling we'll be going down this road in the next ten years-especially in the demographic we teach. Half of them already have readers at home.

This site is a great resource for Math instruction. It has over 2,100 videos and 100 self-paced exercises and assessments covering everything math. Not sure this is exactly 2.0 but worth a look for math teachers.
  •
This website would be helpful for students who are struggling with homework. The videos give step by step directions narrated by a person who is writing on a board. It would also be helpful for parents who are trying to assist their children with math.

I didn't see much science in our list so I thought I would look for something focused on science. This is an effective tool because it is so well organized. You can look through the list quickly.

Thanks Darcy. So much to check out here. I will be checking this site frequently at the beginning of each science unit!

That's fantastic, Darcy. The sites that aren't organized are frustrating-->useless. This one is great!

This is a cool Web 2.0 tool that lets you plug in up to three terms and then represents their appearance in literature from 1800-2000. A neat way to show and discuss trends in thinking, literature, and history.

I agree, we need to think about the role of technology. But we have harped on this a million times. Are we using technology for technology's sake? SO what if we are?? We are forcing our kids to memorize random useless (be honest-useless) facts so they know how to memorize/study/learn the important stuff in the future. What if we just use technology so that they are comfortable? So that they are confident? When the time comes, are students who endured me and my endless stream of tech-y lessons better prepared when they need to be masters of the technology or it will master them??
