This is so helpful and true, we need to model appropriate and responsible use to help guide our students properly when it comes to developing an online identity, and I don't think that so many educators should be so negative about social media when many of them do not really understand much about it at all, and only seek to demonize and limit students' access. - L. I hope to have a class blog that encourges collaboration helps to provide students with a positive model for understanding what appropriate and positive blogging is and how it can be use to involve others within that community, because we want to create inclusive communities to involve students and families in the thing we are doing within the classroom. I like the idea of having students blog as a component of their free writing, to share their work and knowledge with a larger audience than only within the classroom. - L. Beeson
