Murphy shares the experience of developing an acceptable-use policy (AUP) that reflects the changing realities of 21st century learning and incorporates the input of school-community stakeholders.

The article was simple in language and went step by step in how to properly setup a policy, how to use the school board and community to help develop it, create specific situations and consequence when people do not comply, and creating a physical contract to be signed by parents and child that they understand the policies at their school.

Many of us are using iPads, iPods, or other devices in our classrooms this coming year! This technology is so exciting, especially when we get it into the hands of young learners!!! I live in Monmouth County and I had to sign a form to agree that my child will follow these AUP rules. If they are not followed the consequences are outlined. My child also had to sign the form.
