So the Veil effectively "broke" the Fade by sundering it from the physical world, resulting in the downfall of the elven empire and forever changing the world of Thedas as we know it today. But that's not why this line stood out to me. It's the bit about the "old dreams" that's really compelling, because the implication there is that the Evanuris aren't the only beings held at bay by the Veil. So, how does this connect to the Whispers In Red Lyrium codex? Hopefully the above graphics have helped illuminate some of my points, but I'll go ahead and explain myself a bit further. To point out the obvious, the "whispers" here are most definitely blighted. (Seeing how red lyrium is blighted - the jump here isn't a difficult one.) The word "sundered" is also an interesting choice of word, as it is strongly associated with two things: The creation of the Veil and the destruction of the Titans.

Sans magic and game mechanics, what do we know about what they actually do? Here's what I can find. I have left out any herb for which no in-world use or effect is given besides crafting, for brevity's sake. I have also left out herbs which appear to be strictly poisonous. This is all information from the wiki, so if anyone has more information from, say, the RPG guide, I'd love to add it.

Not complete, but substantial and annotated. Most annotations are wiki copypasta. Links are included to the wiki page in which each name is found. Not all names have their own wiki entries, which is kind of the point of this list. The list does not distinguish between Surfacers, dwarves of Orzammar, dwarves of Kal-Sharok, and dwarves of other cities lost to the Blight, but that may be something to consider.

It's not complete, but it's pretty substantial. Missing information is clearly marked in each entry with empty brackets. Where a clan name is missing, the keeper's name is used. This is a longer list than 'Category:Dalish' on the wiki, because it includes elves that don't have their own pages.

Introduction This theory popped into my mind as I was playing Inquisition for the first time. I travelled a lot with Solas and Cole. Beyond the Korcari Wilds and Arbor Wilds to the south there is a frozen wasteland called the Sunless Lands that only the Chasind Wilders have explored. There is land to the west of Thedas, although the Hunterhorn Mountains inhibit travel, as do the jungles of the Donarks in the northwest. The Tevinter call these lands the 'Viridis' - "The Green", and have rumors of wingless dragons and flying chimeras inhabiting the jungles. Before the Third Blight, the Ander city of Laysh traded with ships that came across the Volca Sea. The travelers, named 'Voshai', had an excessive interest in Lyrium. Expeditions to reach the homeland of the Voshai have so far failed. In recent times, however, rumors have risen that the Voshai ships have returned, bringing with them tales of a 'cataclysm' that devastated their home. [...]

So, because this is a thing that comes up in a codex entry, and it is specifically a DWARF-related codex, I feel like I should point out that 'name days' are a very real thing. They are the day that has the same name you do. (And you're like what, Wednesday? No, like Elizabeth, which is 19 November, in the Swedish Calendar that was in use up to 1972.)

An organized list of where we stand, canonwise, on the hints we have so far of the origins of the Qunari. May include spoilers for Jaws of Hakkon and Trespasser.
