Title: The Meaning of Difference: Beyond Cultural and Managerial Homogeneity Stereotypes of Latin America Citation: Patricia Friedrich, Luiz Mesquita, Andrés Hatum, (2006) "The Meaning of Difference: Beyond Cultural and Managerial Homogeneity Stereotypes of Latin America", Management Research: The Journal of the Iberoamerican Academy of Management, Vol.

This is a very interesting article about stereotypes, specifically in Latin America. This can not only help me and other Latin American teachers but also to others from different nationalities and cultures, so they can use this as a comparison to their own and help the students develop a broad vision of this topic.

The boy with no penis - 1 views

  •
This is my all time favorite for ethics and experiments. We saw the whole movie. I think it is very valuable since it is made with the actual kid who suffered the impact of unethical experimentation, lack of parent will power, and a scientific context that thought new it all.
  •
hello Gonzalo! My students love this case study. They always become shocked after hearing this story and want to learn more about ethics in psychology. Thank you for this link!!!
  •
Thank you Aneta, It is a magnificent example of how science, naive parents and ambition can really make life miserable....all in good intentions! (beware of good intentions! hahahaha)

40 blogs - 2 views

  •
This is a good site for finding extra readings on topics that pertain to Psychology. The articles are well written and fairly short and straightforward allowing access to the complex ideas for ESL learners. It is also a great site for "study mining" if you are interested in expanding your options on studies relating to the different concepts in Psych. (I especially like PSYBLOG)
  •
I really love this, and have used it often. A great suggestion. Thank you.

Research Methods - 0 views

  •
In this activity you will explore how psychologists draw solid conclusions from the complex and often ambiguous phenomena they study -- how you think, feel, and behave. To begin, imagine you are a research psychologist. You will learn about and then put into practice some of the key terms and concepts you will need to master if your research is to succeed.

The Moral Life of Babies - NYTimes.com - 0 views

  •
On page 4 of this article there are some good examples of counteracting extraneous variables and really understanding biases. I think articles that summarize experiments like this are good for students to understand the importance of all the little details that could potentially confound their results on the IA.

Remake of the Milgram Study - 0 views

  •
Used this in class when we were looking at obedience but it could also be very useful when looking at and discussing ethics in psychology.
  •
I also use the Milgram study when looking at ethics - it forms a good debate about the trade off between ethics and the amount we have learnt from the study. Some of the classic case studies are good also - Genie Wiley etc.
