40 blogs - 2 views

This is a good site for finding extra readings on topics that pertain to Psychology. The articles are well written and fairly short and straightforward allowing access to the complex ideas for ESL learners. It is also a great site for "study mining" if you are interested in expanding your options on studies relating to the different concepts in Psych. (I especially like PSYBLOG)
  •
I really love this, and have used it often. A great suggestion. Thank you.
  •
This is a good blog page in which you can find 40 blogs selected from the very general to specific and academic.

A Beginner's Guide to Abnormal Psychology | Diigo - 1 views

  •
Exactly as it states. This is a great general resource to help students just getting started with the Abn Psych options, or as a resource for those who are interested in learning more about psychological disorders. Although not strictly linked to the IA, it is a good website.
  •
Great! Don't worry about it not being directly linked to the IA. I have added another tag so others can search for it as well.

Emerald | Management Research: The Journal of the Iberoamerican Academy of Management |... - 0 views

Title: The Meaning of Difference: Beyond Cultural and Managerial Homogeneity Stereotypes of Latin America Citation: Patricia Friedrich, Luiz Mesquita, Andrés Hatum, (2006) "The Meaning of Difference: Beyond Cultural and Managerial Homogeneity Stereotypes of Latin America", Management Research: The Journal of the Iberoamerican Academy of Management, Vol.
  •
This is a very interesting article about stereotypes, specifically in Latin America. This can not only help me and other Latin American teachers but also to others from different nationalities and cultures, so they can use this as a comparison to their own and help the students develop a broad vision of this topic.

Fooled By Your Own Brain - 1 views

Attention is, by definition, limited. And that's usually a good thing. If you're searching for a lost earring on the floor, you want to ignore anything that's not small and shiny. When talking to someone at a party, your mind helpfully tunes out all of the other voices prattling on around you.

Whole human brain mapped in 3D - 1 views

  •
An international group of neuroscientists has sliced, imaged and analysed the brain of a 65-year-old woman to create the most detailed map yet of a human brain in its entirety (see video at bottom). The atlas, called 'BigBrain', shows the organization of neurons with microscopic precision, which could help to clarify or even redefine the structure of brain regions obtained from decades-old anatomical studies.

The boy with no penis - 1 views

This is my all time favorite for ethics and experiments. We saw the whole movie. I think it is very valuable since it is made with the actual kid who suffered the impact of unethical experimentation, lack of parent will power, and a scientific context that thought new it all.
  •
hello Gonzalo! My students love this case study. They always become shocked after hearing this story and want to learn more about ethics in psychology. Thank you for this link!!!
  •
Thank you Aneta, It is a magnificent example of how science, naive parents and ambition can really make life miserable....all in good intentions! (beware of good intentions! hahahaha)

Slideshare Presentation - 2 views

  •
This is quite good for introducing the IA and giving guidelines.
  •
Thank you in particular for this. Have added it to my blog.
  •
A good beginning for students - responding to questions that come up from a presentation like this can lead to less larger issues later in the process.

Journal of Sports and Exercise Psychology - 2 views

  •
I do not know much about sports psychology. Since this is a possible topic our students can choose, I better start brushing up. Here is an up to date journal that gives free abstracts on the latest in sports psychology.
  •
Thank you Heath - I am teaching this option at the moment, and am short of resources. Great!
