Summer Fest has been bringing in about $181.3 Million annually. That includes foods, tickets, bus rides down, ect. Summer Fest continually growing and fast; last summer it made over 187 million, an increase of about 6 million dollars. Having “The Largest Music Festival in the world” in our own back yard, (taking up over 78acres), we attract a lot of tourist which gives Milwaukee a chance to self promote the city. The city draws over 850,000 people each year, making the economy circuit flow fast in that two week span.

The 23,000 seat Marcus Amphitheater hosts the music industry’s hottest stars during Summerfest along with additional shows throughout the festival season.  Providing excellent sound, lighting and large video screens coupled with views of Lake Michigan and Henry Maier Festival Park, every seat in the house gives fans an unforgettable live music experience.  Patrons must purchase separate tickets to Marcus Amphitheater shows during Summerfest.

Completed in 2006, the Miller Lite Oasis features a state-of-the-art stage, improved sightlines and landscaping, large image magnification video screens, Miller Lite signage and a raised VIP Deck area with food vendors below. The stage creates an exciting atmosphere for all performances and offers a unique viewing opportunity for guests on the Stage Right Deck.

Members Caryl Abshire and Tim Martin were not present. The Summerfest organization made a donation of $50,000 for the spray park planned for Riverview Park at the Rancho Murieta Association meeting Tuesday. The presentation was made by Mike Martel, a founder of the volunteer group, which puts on a two-day carnival at Stonehouse Park in August and supports youth groups in the community. The board also heard presentations on the drought measures the Community Services District has implemented and Sacramento County's effort to have the state relinquish control of a portion of Highway 16.

Lollapalooza was inspired by a 1990, two day festival called A Gathering of Tribes. The inaugural Lollapalooza, in 1991, featured hip hop, alternative, industrial and pop music acts. The diversity of the line up over the years is usually credited for Lollapalooza's mega-success.
