Great site for posting presentations and also posting presentation on a webpage. The presentations are on a shelve. I just started using and love it. It is easy to use and you can just upload PPT, DOC, RFT, EXCEL, etc into it to get the page turning book effect. Plus, links in the presentation are active. This is a new must know site for any educator or preofessional developer that uses technology regularly. Absolutely not. This is based on reading on websites and if you look at the "heatmaps" of eye tracking people focus on where the content is dense. Of course people read across the top of a webpage first, that is where the heading and introduction are. Then they move down the side, where the menus are in general. People even focused on the ads to the right. This is more a commentary on modern website design than anything to do with reading.

This is a fantastic web 2.0 tool. Upload images and annotate. You can other embed media inside the annotations. Annotations pop up as you click or hover over the objects you add. You can embed the annotated image into webpage or blog. This could be a useful tool for teachers and students. Lots of scope for creativity with layers etc. You can share to a group and set editing permissions for public or restricted people/groups for collaboration purposes.

But if you are bound by certain departmental, political or operational constraints, or if you don't know any better, you will probably have to use Internet Explorer (IE). Others can add their own comments to the note. Selected text is archived to a "my bookmarks" page, along with the comments and a copy of the website. Students can collaborate within the bookmarks site or on the individual websites. Diigo supports RSS feeds, allowing teachers to follow student progress. The more I use this tool, the more I'm convinced it ought to be integral to every research project. It allows students to actively connect with the information they're reading--to question, annotate and infer. All in collaboration with their group. How amazing is that???
