Depends on what midi controller and what you are wanting to control. If you are using something like a Korg nano, then there is a driver you have to down load and then you have to map the sounds.

I Sing In A Choir But I Have "No Voice!" - Patricia O'Toole - 0 views

Abstract In this article, I argue that the conventions of choral pedagogy are designed to create docile, complacent singers who are subject to a discourse that is more interested in the production of music than in the laborers. Consequently, I present my choral experience from a critical feminist perspective in an attempt to expose the web of power relations that one enters during choral rehearsals. I use critical feminist strategies, and the theories of power described by Michel Foucault, to question meanings and expose the constitution of the power.

How do you take a sample from a track in Ableton?
  • Jesse Rathgeber

    1) First, import the file you want to sample. You can drag the entire folder (for our remixed) into the area marked "Places" on the left of the screen.
    2) For a single file, drag the file into Arrangement View and find the part of the piece you want to sample.
    3) Right click and hold from the beginning to the end of the sample.
    4) Right click on the selected/highlighted sample, and click on "Consolidate" (this makes just that part the complete sound file.)
    5) Copy the sample and past it into the selected clip spot in Session View.

    2) For a single file, drag the file into Arrangement View and find the part of the piece you want to sample.
    3) Right click and hold from the beginning to the end of the sample.
    4) Push command E (or CNTL E)
    5) Right click on the selected/highlighted sample, and click on "Consolidate" (this makes just that part the complete sound file.)
    6) Copy the sample and past it into the selected clip spot in Session View.

Did you set the tempo before you put the track in? If not, I had the experience that the tracks sounded slowed down and choppy.
