  I love that I can use food, which all students can related to to teach so many Language Arts standards. This project combines close reading and expository writing, which are skills all students need for their entire academic lives, and it is presented through a way that makes students comfortable and confident to talk about their personal cultures. I think students won't be as nervous to present because it is familiar to them, and the students listening usually enjoy hearing about and trying foods from other cultures.
