Although I don't plan on using any sort of podcasting in my classroom as a mode of instruction, I might consider using it as a way for students to make up missed lectures or instruction. This would hopefully help students reduce stress in that they would know that if they miss class, important information can be caught up online through listening to my podcast.

Mainly for businesses, but schools can create virtual classrooms, maintain calendars, assignment deadlines, host picture shows, video events and encourage parents participation, etc.

This is a great tool to prepare quizzes, or create practice exercises to help students prepare for exams. It has six applications. Allows you to make interactive multiple-choice, short-answer, jumbled-sentence, crossword, matching/ordering and gap-fill exercises for the Web. It is not an open source.

The account holder holds the control of this tool. A user doesn't have to download documents to the computer to view them. It has ways to plan ahead through task management, group calendars and a birds eye view of a timeline. It has a discussion board. Information can be share easily.

This is more for teachers. Users can collect, analyze and weight information about many other products, services, etc. It helps the higher education community make better choices in course management systems, student services, and e-learning policies.

You can enter study sets by dividing the type of vocabulary (food, condiments, items, etc.) or grammar you want to learn. It offers flascards, a quiz, auditory quiz, a study bookmark so that you can chose the topic. It also has an statistics button to track your strings and weaknesses.

Voice based elearning tool. A teacher can create talkgroups that are like message boards but with voice and not text. It is easy to interact with students without being in the classroom to practice conversation, give oral presentations and collaborate in different projects.

Helps students get their work organized. It allows you to take notes, set up reminders, and organize your assignments and exams in the calendar. It has a mobile version in case.

You create several maps within one map space, provides a chat where the user can invite others to collaborate on the map and through time line slider you can access older versions of the map. It can also be downloaded on ipads. The academic version is more complete than this free version.

Very easy and simple tool to use. Yu or your students design the story and the artwork is provided. Great tool to use as a final project at the end of the year to check on the students writting skills in English or any other second language (ESL).

ARIS is a tool for you to make mobile games, tours and interactive stories. Using the GPS and QR Codes, ARIS players will experience a virtual world of interactive characters, items and media placed in physical space.

This site helps you with rubrics. It is pre-made and you can not change them. There are lots of rubrics to print.

This site isn't very user friendly if you haven't paid for it. Exploring it wasn't very interesting and it is not something I would use or suggest.

This site is aval. to have students make a funny story with searching in a Google search engine. The students can have a lot of fun.

Very cool app for ESL students to help them learn the English language. Also a good tool for those who want to know the history of popular idioms.

This product is Ok. It seems like a fun play toy without a real use in the classroom.This could be a part in participation if they make a class bulletin board, but like I said I really do not think it would be of real use in the classroom.

Second Life is a 3D MUVE, or multi-user vitural environment, that offers a third-person graphics platform where many users can interact simultaneous, and have a presence in a persistent virtual world.

Blogger is an easy site to use for setting up a blog. You can link just about anything to it and it can be linked to websites, facebook, or other social media very easily.

Dropbox is an easy way to share files and to back them up. You can access your docs on any computer even without the software installed. You can send an invite to share access to specific folders or files to allow collaboration. It works on multiple platforms including iPad/Pod/Phone, PC, MAC, Android, Linux, and Blackberry

A free service that lets you bring your photos, docs, and videos anywhere and share them easily with others.

This website is not for the beginning podcaster. It requires knowledge of host URL's and broadcast site URLs with no explanations as to how they work. I was never able to successfully produce a podcast. More knowledgeable folks may have better luck.
