Hello World!
We are a 5th grade class from the San Francisco Bay area in California. We have been studying how people get their water around the world and want to hear from you! Please take just a moment to fill out each of our surveys, we would appreciate it.
We are a group of first grade students at Moseley Elementary. We are learning to read, write, and use everyday math skills, as well as applying those skills in social studies and science.
The following are some web based activities and materials that we have developed and used in my third (and now fifth) grade class. I hope that you may find these useful in your class!

It was the end of term at Kirkkojarvi Comprehensive School in Espoo, a sprawling suburb west of Helsinki, when Kari Louhivuori, a veteran teacher and the school's principal, decided to try something extreme-by Finnish standards. One of his sixth-grade students, a Kosovo-Albanian boy, had drifted far off the learning grid, resisting his teacher's best efforts. The school's team of special educators-including a social worker, a nurse and a psychologist-convinced Louhivuori that laziness was not to blame. So he decided to hold the boy back a year, a measure so rare in Finland it's practically obsolete.
