Included are the poems of Edgar allan Poe, Robert Louis Stevenson, and rudyard Kiplint, as well as the poems of Aleksandr Pushkin, Aleksandr blok, and anna Akhmatova. The site also contains poems submitted by readers, and features links to a poem of the day and a random poem.

Fairrosa Cyber Library, maintained by Roxanne Hsu Feldman, features an online reading room with bookshelves of classics, fairy tales and folk tales, and stories and rhymes for students in grades K-8. The site also caontains a Lewis Carroll collection, an annotated list of dragon stories, an index to popular children's authors and illustrators, and related links to children's literature.

This site features an online anthology of children's literature for the elementary school. It includes illustrated classics, short stories, and 101 best loved poems.

Grandpa Tucker's Rhymes and Tales feature a collection of short, silly poems and online humorous stories written in verse for elementary school kids. the site also offers holiday poems and tips and materials for teaching poetry in the rhyme time fun section. Teachers can print out the poetry to use in their own classrooms.

The National Academy of the Sciences has launched this new website that gives an overview of the U.S. energy system. It covers 4 main topics: energy uses, sources of energy, the cost of energy (in terms of the environment, national security, and sustainability), and energy efficiency. The site has easy to navigate content and links to source material, and it includes n energy quiz, a glossary, and a source library. The site's producers are also developing curriculum-based materials for high school and middle school classrooms. Two special features--Our Energy System and Understasnding Efficiency--are designed to actively engage visitors and enhance their understanding of energy, including what it is, h ow we use it, and ways to conserve it.

This site is a new multimedia project featuring free interactive adventure games set throughout U.S. history. The first game, Mission 1: For Crown or Coloni? puts players in the shoes of Nat Wheeler, a 14 year old printer's apprentice in 1770 Boston. As players complete tasks throughout the city, they meet everyone from merchants to soldiers, sailors to poets, Patriots to Loyalists. The game reveals rising tensions threatening to come to a head, and, ultimately, players must choose where their loyalties lie. Teachers can use the website to manage classes and track student progress.

AAA Math features a comprehensive set of interactive arithmetic lessons. Unlimited practice is available on each topic which allows thorough mastery of the concepts. Cool site! a free collection of educational videos for students ages 3-18. There are more then 11,000 videos on such subjects as math, science, and history. Students, parents and teachers have designated pages and the site offers a guide for contributors. Featured videos originate from national Geographic, YouTube, and google Videos, among others, and have been endorsed by educators from universities such as Harsvard, Standford, and Brigham Young University.

I have often wondered if there was a tool to organize my own library of books and I think th is may be it.

This site provides a variety of ready to use lesson plans on a variety of topics. The lessons have an essential question as well as an outline of strategies and activities that can be used to teach them. In addition, if appropriate, graphic organizers will be provided for use with the lessons. When you get to the site use the Find a Lesson Plan search feature to easily see if there is a lesson that aligns to your curriculum.

Smarty Games features games for developing basic mathematics and reading skills. There are six mathematics games covering basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. The reading section has two alphabet games and nine animated stories.
