This topic is one of the most discussed alternet energy resolutions today, but hardly funded. Its possible that this college student will get somewhere, but also nowhere without funding to back up his research.

A student at the College of the Atlantic is working on a project to change food waste into energy. He has been studying ways possibilities of converting biomass waste into liquid fuel known as butanol.

Wow cool good for him that would be really cool for him if he did that because then maybe that would change the world.

With the destruction of the nuclear power plants in Japan, the wind turbines are holding up strong. But the downfall of the turbines, is that they only produce a small fraction of Japans energy needs.

This is the oil industry's answer to the traditional process of strip mining, Instead of digging for oil in fields such as this one:on the boarder of Canada. We could send pipes and steam into the ground to slurp the fuel out of the dirt.The heat and water loosen the oil, allowing it to be pumped back to the surface and then refined. People are seeing this type of operation as an environmentally friendly alternative to oil sands mining.
