  •
Wow cool good for him and what with him being still little himself not really that much older.
  •
I think its school for Tristan to save his little sister like that. I would have done the same thing if that happened to me. And it amazing how he learned CPR on t.v.
  •
Tristin must be a really smart kid by learning CPR from tv. I wonder if the mother knew how to perform it.
  •
He has to be good at learning if he learned CPR from tv.

Odyssey of the Mind - 1 views

Recently seven of the Mount Carmel Area Odyssey of the Mind teams went to Williamsport. Three out of the seven teams advanced to world. Odyssey of the Mind is a competition that anyone can compete in. The teams consist of five to seven people. This competition has two parts. The first is your long term problem. At the beginning of the season you pick a problem. There are five total. You then have to solve this problem within an eight minute skit and meet all of the regulations. The second part is spontaneous. The team enters a room with three judges. You can receive a hands-on problem, a hands-on verbal problem, or a verbal problem. Each problem varies on topics and you have a specific amount of time. You are also limited to how many times you may answer. Each of your teams received 1st or 2nd place at the state competition. They will be going to the University of Maryland where they will compete for a world title. Spontaneous and the long term problems are on separate days. Pin trading and shirt trading are only two of the many activities to do during their time there.

This sounds like a good way to learn life skills with other students your age. It gets you out of the class room and allows you to think out side of the box.
  •
Good job and good luck at worlds.
  •

This is why the planes' condition should be checked, and double checked before taking off.
  •
That must have been really bad
  •
This is why they need to be checking everything anymore. You never now what people do to planes, and i feel sorry for every body that family member's got hurt
  •
That is so sad u just never know what is going to happen. You jut have to be careful and be safe and look out for things.
  •
this is not so much someone elses fault as it was mechanic failure. planes are safe but things do happen
  •
Airports should take more time to check their planes to make sure there is nothing wrong with them.
  •
A plain should be check more carefully before it takes off.

Those kids were lucky they joined the boy scouts. This was probably a great learning experience for all of them.
  •
First off the boy shouldve never been out of the site of the leaders of the scouts. It is a god thing that he has made it home safe and sound and was rescued.
  •
I think they were lucky that the plane came to save them. They were lucky they were in boy scouts so they new what to do to stay safe and warm.
  •
If they weren't Boy Scouts and knew how to survive they may have died. Boy Scouts could've saved their lives.
  •
That is a great thing that they found the troop!
  •
if they would have not took off then they would not have got lost in the first place

The cockpit voice recorder from an Air France plane that crashed mysteriously nearly two years ago, killing all 228 people on board, has been found. This device will bring the investigation one step closer to knowing the cause. The discovery of the two data recorders may finally explain why the Airbus A330 dropped out of the sky and into the ocean. It took nearly two years to locate the bulk of the wreckage.

Maybe by finding this and analyzing it they can make other airplanes safer!
  •
I actually came across this on AOL news the other day. Its amazing how big the ocean is and we are able to find such small pieces of history in the depths the dark water. It will be more interesting what they will find out in recent weeks.
  •
That is amazing. I wonder what the voice recorder has on it.
