Tunisian security forces have arrested about 100 jihadist and foiled terrorist operations. They uncovered a militant cell in the city of Hammam Ghzaz that was preparing explosives to use in attacks on security buildings. There has been talk that the jihadist group is seeking to expand its terrorist activities into North Africa. The number of Tunisians fighting in Syria has been estimated at about 3,000.

Another article addressing the recent destruction of Libyan oil fields, the Wall Street Journal points a more direct finger at the Islamic State. This article suggests that militant groups do not have the expertise to take advantage of the oil fields themselves,; therefore, they destroy the oil fields in an attempt to keep rival political factions from using the oil fields to their advantage.

Tunisia forces arrest 32 terrorists that were planning to attack targets in Tunis and other cities. Essid (prime minister) stated they are strengthening measures to combat extremism and strengthen security capabilities to confront terrorism and the protection of the democratic transition.

The Turkish government recently went into an extremist-controlled territory in order to evacuate a tomb of a major historical figure, and the soldiers who guarded it. The safe passage of this mission has shown that the relations between Turkey and Syria have gotten a bit better. 

ISIL killed a 17 year old boy because he was suspected of taking photos on the headquarters in Raqqa. It was said that the boy took the photo for 500 Turkish lira.

Due to the attack on the Bardo museum last month Tunisia plans to re-establish diplomatic ties with Syria in order to track its citizens who have gone to fight alongside Islamist militants. It is said that some 3,000 Tunisian jihadists are thought to have gone to Syria and Iraq.

A mass grave of nearly forty women and children was found in IRAQ after an ISIS territory was taken back by militants in Baghdad. Last month, the U.N. said that 16 mass graves were found in one Iraqi town alone. All of them were as a result of ISIS.
