    This source is testimony given by Melanne Verveer, Ambassador-at-large for Global Women's Issues, she gave a statement to the Subcommittees on International Operations and Organizations, Human Rights, Democracy, and Global Women's Issues and Near Eastern and South and Central Asian Affairs of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee called "Woman and the Arab Spring." The discussion based around the status of women in the Arab Spring and how important it was for women to participate in politics and economics. Verveer spoke of the necessity of Egypt to make a new Constitution that clearly outlined the rights of women.
