When Rami Khouri, the editor-at-large for The Daily Star in Beirut, graduated from Syracuse University in 1970, he heard no mentions of Palestine in Western media. Today, Khouri sees the same media bias as he did 43 years ago, but now he's capable of speaking out against the Middle East's misrepresentation in the press.
This is a great example of how blatantly the media will publish biased reports. I always knew there was media bias but I hadn't realized how extreme it can be.
A terribly interesting article--these are in many ways the reasons I choose not to focus on Israel and Palestine; it's so, so difficult to negotiate the discourses and feelings tangled up in this conflict.
