I was eager to hear Howard Rheingold's thoughts on participatory
learning and to learn more about his new course. In the video thread
above, Howard goes into detail about the ways that "student-led
collaborative inquiry and involvement... enlists their enthusiasm in
ways that even very good lectures and texts don't." He details a loose
set of what he calls meta-skills, which include: critical inquiry,
pathfinding, balancing individual and collective voice, and
attention-to-attention.
