We'll use this topic to post conversation points during our meeting on October 3rd.

One group member post your group's "share out" item to the "Success Team Diigo Discussion" topic as a
comment so that those who aren't with us will be able to share the knowledge.

    1. How was the exercise of having an online dialogue valuable? If you didn't find it to be valuable,
what would have made it so?

    2. Think of one way that you could use Diigo to have a dialogue that will help you grow
    professionally?

    3. A personal learning network (PLN) is simply a group of people who you share and learn with.
Who is in your personal learning network? How can Diigo help you grow your PLN?

Our group likes the fact that we can read materials and comment when we have time. We are not confined to discussion in a meeting-like setting. If we think of something pertinent to add to the discussion later, it is very easy to do so. You never miss the opportunity to add to a conversation if you have an epiphany at a later time.

This is a great tool to get to know people in our group-a way to see their thinking. Blog was a spark to conversations with faculty. Posts help to create a common theme/ability to tie in to our goals.

    1. The opportunity to read professionally and have an opportunity to dialogue with other professionals was valuable. There is a soundboard effect that helps us grow as professionals.... We grow from each other because we all are going through similar experiences.

    2. Allows professionals to communicate and network with each other to grow and learn from one another. Each person is able to work on their own time schedule from the office, home, or other areas of their lives.

    3. Diigo is searchable by topic and tags which allows for people to find the information. Diigo provides a realistic opportunity for professionals to have an opportunity to have dialogue. On the campus level having a select group of key staff members to start the program and let the program grow from the "ground up".

Diigo has a lot of positives and lots of potiential. As we move forward with Diigo we discussed the need to focus/filter what we are posting to make it relevant to our district/campus needs.

We enjoyed reading all the comments.
Social media like Facebook. Doesn't show up right away. Eddie replied to everyone but Robyn, so she wondered of what she wrote was not worthy-- the realized her post was delayed.
    Way to get validation.
Created a need to find resources. Brings out competition and pressure to be professional. Read things we would not normally have read.

Our group shared that the Diigo group discussions help us with reflection of our practice and helps us remember the importance of reflection to change practice - i.e., importance of standardized exams and that one time snap shot - is that the best evaluation of student achievement? So, now let's reflect on our walk through work. What does that score 2 or 3 really tell a teacher? Hummm....it is the reflective part that holds the power.

    1. There is great value in the ability to communicate online with like minded professionals. We discussed creating news groups with professionals from other districts.

    2. Diigo is like having an online file cabinet organized by topic that you can access virtually anytime and anywhere.

    3. This assignment provided us with the opportunity to practice using Diigo. We want teachers to use technology and we should be able to model our expectations.
