I found this webpage during week 5 posting.. it adds a very interesting insight to newspaper verse internet.

With what I am reading so far, I think I would rather wait for the HP Slate rather than rushing out to purchase an Ipad. I think this was a very clever marketing technique by HP.

This is a Wall Street Journal article from January 12, 2011. It is a refreshing view of teenagers doing something wonderful as we always seem to read of the pitfalls of being a teen. The article references our PEW readings on technology useage by age group.

A start at the understanding of the varying use of the internet by race.

I found this site a few months ago when we discussing this topic. I found it very interesting that there is still a gap between the different races. In reading what the Pew team found and what this one did, it was very interesting.

This Valentine's Day article relates how a NY bakery kept business brisk during recent bad weather. Using Facebook and Twitter to remind customers of the hot drinks they serve and offering coupons helped out. The write-up also mentions a change in marketing Spot Dessert took by hiring a PR firm that would lead them into the social media as part of their advertising and communications with customers. People who frequent there are encouraged to join the fun by adding photos of their food or answering questions posted on the site. The general manager of the bakery is quoted as saying, "we wanted to create a personality around our brand." After reading this article, my response is "Mission Accomplished!"

Interesting read and statistical analysis of how race factors into internet usage and e-commerce businesses.

Since Facebook is used by nearly everyone in our class, you should read this article which explains why not to be on Facebook. There are many interesting points in here!

This article, which is authored by a member of the Asia Future Internet Forum, looks at some of the current mobile internet trends, and also addresses some of the potential problems. It gives the author's proposal for an alternative mobile network design. While I don't expect anyone to read all the fine print in this (some of it is IT oriented and somewhat confusing), the big picture is what I find interesting-- people have so much faith and support for mobile internet that they want to develop some sort of international standards for it. People taking initiative such as this will really have a big impact on how the mobile network is shaped in the future!

This is a fabulous website holding vast amounts of current IT news. Some of it's articles are geared towards professionals, where as others are quite informative and easy to read.

It looks like the texting generation has nothing to worry about as these phones get faster all the time. After reading this I wondered, should I upgrade my phone or wait six months and something else will come out.
