I had always heard that visual learning was more effective for most people than oral- or literature-based reading.  However, hearing the statistics about it really hammered it home.  Also, how easy it is to deceive (persuade?) through the use of charts and visuals will make me open my eyes a little bit more, and be more wary of graphs, charts, etc.

Absolutely, the effects of visuals are unparalleled. How often have you had someone who was trying to prove a point used visuals and been effective? Much more than a teacher or someone else who relies strictly on talking..it just is a totally different world. Someone who posts a chart could have just created it, like most things you have to rely on your ability to do research and effective rationale use to believe or not believe, what you think is true and false.

I have always been a visual learner and I felt it was a lot more beneficial and a more effective way to learn than by just reading and writing. Seeing and hearing the true statistics really showed me how the use of graphs and charts really can change a persons perspective on things. I feel visual objects help prove a point and sway the learners opinion.
