India is a very diverse country. There are over 400 spoken languages of which 20 are official languages used in parliament. There is a also huge religious and ethnic diversity in India. The majority of the population is hindu, but there are still huge numbers of people who follow other faiths, India has the second largest muslim population in the world. Reading Frontline I got to take a closer look at the issues that are currently being talked about in India. One of them was the killing of a young woman and man in the name of "honor". The article and the comments talked about it as if it was a bad thing but the people involved did not agree. That province is often associated with these honor killings, which displays the cultural diversity of India. This diversity is often a source of contention between religious groups. Often the more dominant religious groups will take advantage of the weaker ones. Even with all this conflict there is a strong effort to fix these problems. The general population does not seem to agree with those causing problems. There is a large effort to curb corruption and help create a stronger India. The problems in India are major, but the people and the government are improve the country in a number of ways.
