This guide/rubric guides teachers in implementing literacy standards in science and technology. It can also be used as an observational tool for providing feedback. Rubric is divided into the 3 literacy shifts teachers are required to implement: 1. Building knowledge through content-rich nonfiction 2. Reading, writing, and speaking grounded in evidence from text, both literary and informational 3. Regular practice with complex text and its academic language
