  • Purpose: to mount a remote directory on my local Ubuntu Linux Desktop system using SFTP (which is SSH in an FTP-like fashion). The goal is to easily gain access to a remote system’s files through another folder on my desktop. Debina/Ubuntu allows you to easily mount SSH folders via the GUI, however, these mounts won’t show up in the terminal (and in some programs). I used sshfs to accomplish this.

If both languages are object oriented, a class in L1 can inherit from a class in L2. Exceptions triggered by a routine written in L1 and not handled on the L1 side will be passed to the caller, which—if written in L2—will process it using L2's own exception-handling mechanism. During a debugging session, you may move freely and seamlessly across modules written in L1 and L2. I don't know about you, but I've never seen anything coming even close to this level of interoperability.

So I will explain what it means to me.A lifecycle describes the progression of something from its very conception until it no longer has any value. A lifecycle breaks down this progression into generalized stages so we can be smart about dealing with whatever it is based on where we think it is in the lifecycle. The most obvious lifecycle is our own from child, to young adult, to middle age, to old age. We make these distinctions in order deal with the realities of say, voting, retirement planning, and advertising. It's one lifecycle, but it is treated differently by government, banking, and marketing stakeholders, respectively.
